Second Coming of Christ and Mahdi

In Islam, the return of Jesus is believed to be a sign of the end times. He will return to Earth, break the cross, and kill the Dajjal (Antichrist). He will then establish peace and justice and will rule for a period of time before dying a natural death. The belief in the return of Jesus is considered an essential tenet of Islam, In this article, I will add all signs of the end times that are ultimately linked with the Second Coming.

📖Quran 31:34
Surely, it is Allah with whom rests the knowledge of the Hour; and He sends down the rain, and He knows what is in the wombs. No one knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no one knows in which land he will die. Surely, Allah is All Knowing, All Aware.

📖Quran 21:38-40
And they say, “When is this promise, if you should be truthful?” If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not avert the Fire from their faces or from their backs and they will not be aided, Rather, it will come to them unexpectedly and bewilder them, and they will not be able to repel it, nor will they be reprieved.

📖Mark 13:32-33
But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son of Man, but only God, Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.

📖Matthew 24:44 -45
Therefore be also ready, for the Son of man comes in such an Hour as you do not think. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

📖Matthew 24:50 -51
The lord of that servant will come in a Day when he does not look for [him], and in an Hour that he is not aware of, and will cut him asunder, and appoint [him] his portion with the hypocrites, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

In the verse, “Lord” isn’t used in the sense of creator, but rather as a term of respect. In religious texts, angels, humans, and kings are also referred to as “Lord.” For example, in John 14:25-27, it is clearly mentioned that Jesus is going to God, indicating that he is not God, because he goes to his God.

📖Matthew 10:21-23
Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved, But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel Jacob, till the Son of man be come.

Most Christians believe this verse refers to the disciples of Jesus, but some interpret it as referring to the last days. In the verses, the city of Israel refers to the area where the children of Israel lived. It is important to note that the verse is not referring to the state of Israel, but the region of Jacob and his descendants. Today’s state of Israel and the Israelis are not only descendants of Jacob, and there is no evidence that they share the bloodline of Jacob. The white Israelis are converted, and they believe they are descended from one of Jacob’s children, but the 11 lost tribes are still missing to this day.

📖Matthew 24:9-10
Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other.

📖Mark 13:37
what I say to you, I say to all, ‘Watch.

📖Matthew 12:36
I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak.

📖Matthew 24:37
As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

📖John 14:25:27
All this I have spoken while still with you, But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the (God) will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you, Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you. If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the God, for the God is greater than I.

In John 14:25-27, Jesus speaks of the Advocate, also known as the Comforter, who will come after Him. we believe this reference as a prophecy about Prophet Muhammad, with the Holy Spirit being identified as the Archangel Gabriel. According to this interpretation, Prophet Muhammad brought a message to the Arabs and Israelites, groups who initially rejected him, affirming the truth of Jesus and stating that He was not crucified. Furthermore, the Qur’an honors Mary by dedicating an entire chapter to her, known as Surah Maryam.

I have added a few Bible verses. The Bible has fewer signs related to the end times, it just says a few things about Jesus’ return.

📖Quran 7:187
Sahih International
They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival? Say, “Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None will reveal its time except Him. It lays heavily upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come upon you except unexpectedly.” They ask you as if you are familiar with it. Say, “Its knowledge is only with Allah , but most of the people do not know.

Second Coming of Jesus in the Quran

In Islam, the belief in the second coming of Jesus, known as “Isa” in Arabic, is considered to be a fundamental tenet of faith. According to Islamic tradition, Jesus was not crucified but rather was raised up into heaven by God, and he will return to earth at the end of times to restore justice and defeat the Antichrist, known as Dajjal.

The belief in the second coming of Jesus is mentioned in several verses of the Quran and Hadith, including:

📖Quran 3:55
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Allah said, ‘O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allah] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ.

📖Quran 4:157-159
That they said (in boast), “We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of God”;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise;-And there is none of the People of the Book but must believe in him before his death; and on the Day of Judgment he will be a witness against them.

The Qur’an says: “And there is none of the People of the Book but must believe in him before his death…” (Surah An-Nisa 4:159). This part clearly indicates that before the death of Jesus (peace be upon him), all the People of the Book—Jews and Christians—will believe in him as the true Messenger of God and the Messiah. Since the verse mentions that they must believe in him “before his death,” this implies that Jesus will return to Earth, as he was raised to heaven by God and has not yet passed away, the Qur’an’s earlier statement clearly clarifies that he was neither crucified nor killed but raised by God (Surah An-Nisa 4:157-158). Therefore, the verse about “before his death” points to his second coming, after which he will live again on Earth and die a natural death, just like any other human being. His death will occur only after his mission is fulfilled, proving that the verse affirms his return.

The Qur’an states: *”And on the Day of Judgment he will be a witness against them…”* (Surah An-Nisa 4:159). This part refers to Jesus (peace be upon him) being a witness on the Day of Judgment, which is a time that comes after the world ends, when all of humanity will be held accountable for their actions, When the Day of Judgment begins, Jesus will be a witness against those from the People of the Book—Jews and Christians—who rejected the truth of Islam and the original message he brought as a prophet of God. His testimony will serve to confirm the reality of his mission, as well as the distortion of his message that occurred over time. Those who rejected Islam and the true message of Jesus, as understood in the Qur’an, will be held accountable for their actions. This means that Jesus’ return is not just a moment to correct misunderstandings during his second coming, but also to testify about those who followed the true message and those who deviated from it. His role as a witness will occur after his death, during the Day of Judgment, when every soul will be judged according to their beliefs and actions. Those who rejected the divine truth will be confronted by Jesus’ testimony, confirming the rejection of the true faith and the distortion of his teachings.

Difference Between Islam and Christianity

  1. In Christianity, it is widely believed that Jesus was crucified for the sins of humanity and was later raised to heaven. According to Paul’s letters, he is described as being “seated at the right hand of God.” It’s important to note that phrases like “right hand of God” are often metaphorical, signifying a place of honor rather than implying a physical hand or literal seating, thus, the Bible itself acknowledges that Jesus isn’t God, but he is honored by God, as Paul’s letter says he is seated at the right hand of God, which indicates a distinction between God and Jesus, showing that Jesus is not God but rather the Messiah a servant and messenger of God.
  2. In Islam, the belief is different. Muslims do not believe that Jesus was crucified. Instead, we believe that God saved him from such a fate, raising him alive to the heavens. He remains alive to this day and will return to the world during the end times. After fulfilling his mission during his second coming, Jesus will pass away naturally, just as all human beings do. Afterward, Allah will resurrect everyone for the final judgment, and Jesus will also be present on that day.
  3. Both Christians and Muslims agree that he is now in heaven and alive, and according to both the Bible and Islamic scriptures, his second coming is not based on birth; rather, he will come down from heaven. So it is important to remember that the false Messiah will be born, claiming he is Jesus and the Messiah, the Son of God, and then he will finally declare himself to be God. In Christianity, there is a belief that God came in human form, which leads them to follow the Antichrist unknowingly, In Islam, we do not believe in the concept of God becoming human, nor do we believe that a Messiah will be born in the future from the bloodline of David, as the Jews believe. They are expecting a figure who will be born from a father and mother, which contradicts both the Bible and the Islamic understanding of the second coming. According to Islamic belief, Jesus will return from heaven rather than being born through the natural process of two individuals, this means the Jewish Messiah is the Antichrist. but , for the Jewish community, this is their belief they don’t consider the character as the Antichrist, and just like everyone else, they have the right to follow their own beliefs.

Islamic End Times Hadith

Hadith are sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad recorded by his companions. Hadiths about the end times are considered one of the most important sources for understanding the Islamic belief about the end of the world and the events that will happen before the Day of Judgment. Some of the most famous hadiths about the end times include:

📖Sunan Abi Dawud 4297
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The people will soon summon one another to attack you as people when eating invite others to share their dish. Someone asked: Will that be because of our small numbers at that time? He replied: No, you will be numerous at that time: but you will be scum and rubbish like that carried down by a torrent, and Allah will take fear of you from the breasts of your enemy and last enervation into your hearts. Someone asked: What is wahn (enervation). Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): He replied: Love of the world and dislike of death.

📖Sahih Muslim 7
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah upon him, said: ‘There will be in the end of time charlatan liars coming to you with narrations that you nor your fathers heard, so beware of them lest they misguide you and cause you tribulations’.

📖Tirmidhi 2404
The Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) said:
“In the end of time there shall come men who will swindle the world with religion, decieving the people in soft skins of sheep, their tongues are sweeter than sugar and their hearts are the hearts of wolves. Allah [Mighty and Sublime is He] says: ‘Is it me you try to delude or is it against me whom you conspire? By Me, I swear to send upon these people, among them, a Fitnah that leaves them utterly devoid of reason.

📖Tirmidhi 2218
The Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) said:
“The Hour shall not be established until nearly thirty imposters, Dajjal appear, each of them claiming that he is the Messenger of Allah.

📖Tirmidhi 2195
Th Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) said:
“Rush to do good deeds. A Fitnah will occur that is like a portion of the dark night, morning will come upon a man as a believer, who will be a disbeliever in the evening, and evening will come upon a believer, who will be a disbeliever in the morning. One of them will sell his religion for goods of the world.

📖Sunan Abi Dawud 4291
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Allah will raise for this community at the end of every hundred years the one who will renovate its religion for it. Abu Dawud said: ‘Abd al-Rahman bin Shuriah al-Iskandarani has also transmitted this tradition, but he did not exceed Shrahil.

This hadith had interpretation by scholars. Any good scholar or person will appear to correct the error in it, but some interpretations suggest it refers to a spiritual leader. If we look back in history, we can find that all Muslim empires, like the Ottoman Empire and others before it, fell during such periods, which are similar to the 100-year gap mentioned. You can find this information on Wikipedia, but scholars agree that this hadith refers to someone who will come every 100 years to correct the errors made by humans.

📖Sahih al-Bukhari 7120

📖Tirmidhi 2188
The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:
“In the end of time there will come a people young in years, foolish in minds, reciting the Qur’an which will not go beyond their throats, uttering sayings from the best of creatures, going through the religion as an arrow goes through the target.

📖Sunan Ibn Majah 3957
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“How will you be at a time that will soon come, when the good people will pass away and only the worst ones will be left, who will break their promises and betray their trusts, and they will differ while they were previously together like this,” – and he interlaced his fingers. They said: “What should we do, O Messenger of Allah, when that comes to pass?” He said: “Follow that which you know is true, and leave that which you dislike. Take care of your own affairs and turn away from the common folk.

📖Sunan Ibn Majah 982
It was narrated that Salamah bint Hurr, the sister of Kharashah, said: “I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say: ‘A time will come when the people will stand for a long time and will not be able to find any Imam to lead them in prayer.

📖Tirmidhi 2332

📖Sahih Muslim 2896
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Iraq would withhold its dirhams and qafiz; Syria would withhold its mudd and dinar and Egypt would withhold its irdab and dinar and you would recoil to that position from where you started and you would recoil to that position from where you started and you would recoil to that position from where you started, the flesh and blood of Abu Huraira would bear testimony to it.

📖Sunan Abi Dawud 4279
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The religion will continue to be established till there are twelve caliphs over you, and the whole community will agree on each of them. I then heard from the Prophet (ﷺ) some remarks which I could not understand. I asked my father: What is he saying: He said: all of them will belong to Quraysh.

📖Sunan Abi Dawud 2535

When he saw the signs of distress on our faces, he stood up on our faces and said: O Allah, do not put them under my care, for I would be too weak to care for them; do not put them in care of themselves, for they would be incapable of that, and do not put them in the care of men, for they would choose the best things for themselves. He then placed his hand on my head and said: Ibn Hawalah, when you see the caliphate has settled in the holy land, earthquakes, sorrows and serious matters will have drawn near and on that day the Last Hour will be nearer to mankind than this hand of mine is to your head.

📖Sahih Muslim 1925
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
The people of the West will continue to triumphantly follow the truth until the Hour is established.

This hadith most likely refers to regions such as Syria, Palestine, Jordan, and Lebanon. It suggests that the people of these areas will continue to steadfastly adhere to and uphold the truth. In contrast, while the rest of the Muslim world will maintain their belief, their adherence to the truth may not be as steadfast or as it should ideally be.

📖Sahih al-Bukhari 7459
The Prophet (ﷺ) saying, “Some people from my followers will continue to be victorious over others till Allah’s Order (The Hour) is established.” (See Hadith No. 414)

This hadith primarily refers to a group of believers who will uphold the truth, adhere to Islamic teachings, and remain firm on the path of righteousness, as mentioned in the previous hadith about the West.

📖Sahih Muslim 2953 b
Anas b. Malik reported that a person asked Allah’s Apostle (ﷺ): When would the Last Hour come? Thereupon Allah’s Messenger (way peace be upon him) kept quiet for a while. Then looked at a young boy in his presence belonging to the tribe of Azd Shanu’a and he said: If this boy lives he would not grow very old till the Last Hour would come to you. Anas said that this young boy was of our age during those days.

This hadith refers to the concept of the Last Hour (Qiyamah), but it’s important to note that the “Last Hour” mentioned here does not directly refer to the exact time when the world will end. Rather, the coming of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) himself marks the beginning of the Last Hour for humanity. From the time of his prophethood, the world entered its final phase, as he is the last Messenger of Allah. In this hadith, the Prophet (ﷺ) made a prophecy using the example of the young boy, indicating that significant events symbolizing the approach of the Last Hour would happen during that generation’s time or shortly after. This means that certain signs of the Last Hour were already in motion. The “Last Hour” here represents a sequence of events leading to the eventual end of the world, showing that humanity is in the final era.

📖Sahih Muslim 157 c
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (way peace be upon him) as saying:
The Last Hour will not come before wealth becomes abundant and overflowing, so much so that a man takes Zakat out of his property and cannot find anyone to accept it from him and till the land of Arabia reverts to meadows and rivers.

📖Sunan Abi Dawud 4343
Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-‘As:
When we were around the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), he mentioned the period of commotion (fitnah) saying: When you see the people that their covenants have been impaired, (the fulfilling of) the guarantees becomes rare, and they become thus (interwining his fingers). I then got up and said: What should I do at that time, may Allah make me ransom for you? He replied: Keep to your house, control your tongue, accept what you approve, abandon what you disapprove, attend to your own affairs, and leave alone the affairs of the generality.

📖Sahih al-Bukhari 7062, 7063
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Near the establishment of the Hour there will be days during which Religious ignorance will spread, knowledge will be taken away (vanish) and there will be much Al-Harj, and Al- Harj means killing.

📖Sahih al-Bukhari 5590
Narrated Abu ‘Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash’ari: that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, “From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, ‘Return to us tomorrow.’ Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection.

The context of the hadith about musical instruments:

📖Sahih al-Bukhari 5231
Narrated Anas: I will narrate to you a Habith I heard from Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) and none other than I will tell you of it. I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saying, “From among the portents of the Hour are the following: Religious knowledge will be taken away; General ignorance (in religious matters) will increase; illegal Sexual intercourse will prevail: Drinking of alcoholic drinks will prevail. Men will decrease in number, and women will increase in number, so much so that fifty women will be looked after by one man.

📖Tirmidhi 2219

“The Hour shall not be established until tribes of my Ummah unite with the idolaters, and until they worship idols. And indeed there shall be thirty imposters in my Ummah, each of them claiming that he is a Prophet. And I am the last of the Prophets, there is no Prophet after me.

📖Sunan Abi Dawud 4242
Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: When we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), he talked about periods of trial (fitnahs), mentioning many of them. When he mentioned the one when people should stay in their houses, some asked him: Messenger of Allah, what is the trial (fitnah) of staying at home? He replied: It will be flight and plunder. Then will come a test which is pleasant. Its murkiness is due to the fact that it is produced by a man from the people of my house, who will assert that he belongs to me, whereas he does not, for my friends are only the God-fearing. Then the people will unite under a man who will be like a hip-bone on a rib. Then there will be the little black trial which will leave none of this community without giving him a slap, and when people say that it is finished, it will be extended. During it a man will be a believer in the morning and an infidel in the evening, so that the people will be in two camps: the camp of faith which will contain no hypocrisy, and the camp of hypocrisy which will contain no faith. When that happens, expect the Antichrist (Dajjal) that day or the next.

📖Sahih al-Bukhari 7121
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “The Hour will not be established (1) till two big groups fight each other whereupon there will be a great number of casualties on both sides and they will be following one and the same religious doctrine, (2) till about thirty Dajjals (liars) appear, and each one of them will claim that he is Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ), (3) till the religious knowledge is taken away (by the death of Religious scholars) (4) earthquakes will increase in number (5) time will pass quickly, (6) afflictions will appear, (7) Al-Harj, (i.e., killing) will increase, (8) till wealth will be in abundance —- so abundant that a wealthy person will worry lest nobody should accept his Zakat, and whenever he will present it to someone, that person (to whom it will be offered) will say, ‘I am not in need of it, (9) till the people compete with one another in constructing high buildings, (10) till a man when passing by a grave of someone will say, ‘Would that I were in his place (11) and till the sun rises from the West. So when the sun will rise and the people will see it (rising from the West) they will all believe (embrace Islam) but that will be the time when: (As Allah said,) ‘No good will it do to a soul to believe then, if it believed not before, nor earned good (by deeds of righteousness) through its Faith.’ (6.158) And the Hour will be established while two men spreading a garment in front of them but they will not be able to sell it, nor fold it up; and the Hour will be established when a man has milked his she-camel and has taken away the milk but he will not be able to drink it; and the Hour will be established before a man repairing a tank (for his livestock) is able to water (his animals) in it; and the Hour will be established when a person has raised a morsel (of food) to his mouth but will not be able to eat it.

📖Sahih al-Bukhari 7128
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said. “While I was sleeping, I saw myself (in a dream) performing Tawaf around the Ka`ba. Behold, I saw a reddish-white man with lank hair, and water was dropping from his head. I asked, “Who is this?’ They replied, ‘The son of Mary.’ Then I turned my face to see another man with a huge body, red complexion and curly hair and blind in one eye. His eye looked like a protruding out grape. They said (to me), He is Ad-Dajjal.” The Prophet (ﷺ) added, “The man he resembled most is Ibn Qatan, a man from the tribe of Khuza`a.

This hadith from Sahih al-Bukhari (7128) presents a vivid dream of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) where he describes a vision of performing Tawaf around the Ka`ba. In the dream, he encounters two distinct figures: one resembling Isa (Jesus) and the other resembling the Antichrist (Ad-Dajjal).

  1. The first figure is a man with a reddish-white complexion and lank hair, from whom water is dripping, symbolizing a likeness to Jesus (Isa) ibn Maryam. When the Prophet (ﷺ) inquires about this man, he is told that he is “the son of Mary.” This is a reference to Jesus, the Messiah, whose physical description matches the Prophet’s vision.
  2. The second figure is described as a man with a huge body, a red complexion, and curly hair. His most distinguishing feature is that he is blind in one eye, which appears like a protruding grape. This man is identified as Ad-Dajjal, the Antichrist, a deceptive figure who will later claim to be the Messiah (the Christ) and ultimately declare himself as God.
  3. The hadith emphasizes that the Antichrist (Ad-Dajjal) will attempt to imitate Jesus, specifically his appearance and role as the Messiah. This deception is part of his effort to mislead people, and the Prophet (ﷺ) further clarifies that the person most resembling Ad-Dajjal is Ibn Qatan, a man from the Khuza`a tribe. The key takeaway from this hadith is the warning that the Antichrist will try to mimic the Messiah in appearance and behavior, but his false claims and deceptive nature will be evident. This serves as a reminder to believers to be vigilant and discerning of false prophets and deceivers.

📖Riya as-Salihin 1809 dRib’i bin Hirash (May Allah be pleased with him) said: I accompanied Abu Mas’ud Al-Ansari to Hudaifah bin Al-Yaman (May Allah be pleased with them). Abu Mas’ud said to him: “Tell us what you heard from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about Dajjal (the Antichrist).” Hudaifah said: He (ﷺ) said, “Dajjal will appear, and with him will be water and fire. That which people consider to be water will in fact be a burning fire, and that which people will consider to be fire will in fact be cool and sweet water. He who from amongst you happens to face him, should jump into that which he sees as fire for that will be nice and sweet water.” Abu Mas’ud said: “I have also heard this from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).

📖Sahih al-Bukhari 7130
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: about Ad-Dajjal that he would have water and fire with him: (what would seem to be) fire, would be cold water and (what would seem to be) water, would be fire.

The hadith from Sahih al-Bukhari 7130 and Riya as-Salihin 1809 refers to Ad-Dajjal, a figure in Islamic eschatology, who is said to possess powers that distort the nature of reality. The Prophet (ﷺ) describes how he will carry with him both water and fire, where the fire will be perceived as cool water and the water will appear as fire. This description highlights his ability to deceive and manipulate perceptions, leading people to mistake something dangerous for something desirable, and vice versa. In a modern context, this narrative can be interpreted metaphorically in terms of technological advancements. The rise of virtual realities, like the metaverse, and neural interfaces like Neuralink, may parallel the deception mentioned in the hadith. These technologies could alter human perceptions of reality, creating a world where virtual experiences become so immersive and enticing that individuals may prefer them over the natural world. People might become trapped in these digital environments, unable or unwilling to return to reality, drawn by the allure of a simulated life that seems more exciting or fulfilling.

This interpretation, however, is purely personal and speculative. It is not the mainstream view of Islamic scholars, and the message in the hadith is generally understood to warn against deception and the manipulation of truth, especially in the context of the end times, rather than as a prediction of specific technological advancements.

📖Sunan Abi Dawud 2483
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: It will turn out that you will be armed troops, one is Syria, one in the Yemen and one in Iraq. Ibn Hawalah said: Choose for me, Messenger of Allah, if I reach that time. He replied: Go to Syria, for it is Allah’s chosen land, to which his best servants will be gathered, but if you are unwilling, go to your Yemen, and draw water from your tanks, for Allah has on my account taken special charge of Syria and its people.

📖Sahih al-Bukhari 7088
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “There will come a time when the best property of a Muslim will be sheep which he will take to the tops of mountains and the places of rainfall so as to flee with his religion from the afflictions.

This hadith is understood to refer to the time of the Antichrist (Dajjal), a period of great tribulation and widespread corruption. When the Dajjal emerges, his influence and power will be unmatched, and no one will be able to defeat him except by the decree of Allah. During his rule, which will last 40 days — described in Islam as being of different lengths—he will bring trials that will shake the faith of many.

In such a time, Muslims will face extreme difficulty in holding onto their religion. This hadith highlights that some believers, unable to confront the overwhelming trials brought by the Dajjal, will seek to protect their faith by isolating themselves in remote places like mountains and areas of rainfall, taking their sheep as a means of sustenance. It reflects the severity of the challenges during the Antichrist’s time and the lengths to which Muslims will go to safeguard their beliefs.

📖Sahih al-Bukhari 1414
The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said, “A time will come upon the people when a person will wander about with gold as Zakat and will not find anybody to accept it, and one man will be seen followed by forty women to be their guardian because of scarcity of men and great number of women.

This hadith is often understood to refer to a time of imbalance in the male-to-female ratio, leading to social and economic challenges. A common interpretation is that this could result from large-scale wars, which historically have disproportionately reduced the male population. Wars and conflicts often cause significant casualties among men, as they are traditionally more likely to serve as combatants, Some interpretations suggest that the part refers to the period after the war, as religious scriptures describe it as Armageddon or Al-Malhama.

📖Tirmidhi 2204
Th Prophet(s.a.w) said, about the Fitnah:
“Break your bows during it, cut their strings and stick to the depths of your homes, and be like Adam’s son.

📖Sunan an-Nasa’i 3175
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘There are two groups of my Ummah whom Allah will free from the Fire: The group that invades India, and the group that will be with ‘Isa bin Maryam ( Jesus Christ the Son of Mary), peace be upon him.

It’s important to note that the Hadith referring to the group fighting in the cause of Allah doesn’t mean killing people without following the laws, but rather based on what Allah said in the Qur’an. Please read this article:

Does Islam Say to Fight with Jews and Christians?

📖Tirmidhi 2269
The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:
“Black standards will come from Khurasan, nothing shall turn them back until they are planted in Jerusalem.

  • This hadith is considered weak, but it has been linked to narratives regarding the events of the end times, particularly related to the issues of Israel and Palestine. The group mentioned in the hadith is not explicitly identified, and their identity is not the central focus. What is significant is that this group will uphold the Qur’an and Sunnah, striving for justice and avoiding actions forbidden in Islam, such as the killing of innocent people, which the Qur’an explicitly condemns.

📖Sunan Ibn Majah 4095
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“There will be a treaty between you and Banu Asfar (The Romans), but they will betray you and will march against you with eighty banners, under each of which there will be twelve thousand troops.

📖Sahih al-Bukhari 3176
The Prophet (ﷺ) during the Ghazwa of Tabuk while he was sitting in a leather tent. He said, “Count six signs that indicate the approach of the Hour: my death, the conquest of Jerusalem, a plague that will afflict you (and kill you in great numbers) as the plague that afflicts sheep, the increase of wealth to such an extent that even if one is given one hundred Dinars, he will not be satisfied; then an affliction which no Arab house will escape, and then a truce between you and Bani Al-Asfar (i.e. the Byzantines) who will betray you and attack you under eighty flags. Under each flag will be twelve thousand soldiers.

  1. This Hadith referring to the Byzantines has another connection where it says that the Muslim countries and the countries known as Byzantine (today corresponding to regions like **Greece, Turkey, Italy, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Serbia, Albania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Armenia, Georgia, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, and possibly others) will become allies. These countries, as both Byzantine countries and Muslim countries, will unite and fight together against a common enemy. The exact identity of the enemy is uncertain but could be the Zionists or ISIS. They will be victorious.
  2. It’s important to note how the Prophet (ﷺ) at that time came to know about the **eighty flags**, which is a key part of this prophecy. The context of the Hadith is linked with another Hadith and the events surrounding Israel and Palestine, I will include the article later to provide a deeper understanding of this hadith.
  3. This will occur in the **end times**. After their victory, they will eventually fight among themselves for a common reason. This should not be understood as hatred, but as a fulfillment of the prophecy about the world moving in a specific direction toward its end. Despite not believing it now, this is how the events will unfold.
  4. The **eighty flags** mentioned in the Hadith likely refer to the **majority of Christian countries** today, which number almost **80**, and are part of the **United Nations (UN).

📖Sunan Abi Dawud 4292
Dhu Mikhbar said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: you will make a secure peace with the Byzantines, then you and they will fight an enemy behind you, and you will be victorious, take booty, and be safe. You will then return and alight in a meadow with mounds and one of the Christians will raise the cross and say: The cross has conquered. One of the Muslims will become angry and smash it, and the Byzantines will act treacherously and prepare for the battle.

This hadith is part of the previous one, as I explained the reason why they will start fighting among themselves after achieving victory over their enemy.

📖Sahih Muslim 2899 a
Yusair b. Jabir reported: Once there blew a red storm in Kufah that there came a person who had nothing to say but (these words): `Abdullah b. Mas`ud, the Last Hour has come. He (`Abdullah b. Mas`ud) was sitting reclining against something, and he said: The Last Hour would not come until shares of inheritance are not distributed and there is no rejoicing over spoils of war. Then he said pointing towards Syria, with the gesture of his hand like this: The enemy shall muster strength against Muslims and the Muslims will muster strength against them (Syrians). I said: You mean Rome? And he said: Yes, and there would be a terrible fight and the Muslims would prepare a detachment (for fighting unto death) which would not return but victorious. They will fight until night will intervene them; both the sides will return without being victorious and both will be wiped out. The Muslims will again prepare a detachment for fighting unto death so that they may not return but victorious. When it would be the fourth day, a new detachment out of the remnant of the Muslims would be prepared and Allah will decree that the enemy should be routed. And they would fight such a fight the like of which would not be seen, so much so that even if a bird were to pass their flanks, it would fall down dead before reaching the end of them. (There would be such a large scale massacre) that when counting would be done, (only) one out of a hundred men related to one another would be found alive. So what can be the joy at the spoils of such war and what inheritance would be divided! They would be in this very state that they would hear of a calamity more horrible than this. And a cry would reach them: The Dajjal has taken your place among your offspring. They will, therefore, throw away what would be in their hands and go forward sending ten horsemen, as a scouting party. Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: I know their names and the names of their forefathers and the color of their horses. They will be the best horsemen on the surface of the earth on that day or amongst the best horsemen on the surface of the earth on that day.

📖Sahih Muslim 2897
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The Last Hour would not come until the Romans would land at al-A’maq or in Dabiq. An army consisting of the best (soldiers) of the people of the earth at that time will come from Medina (to counteract them). When they will arrange themselves in ranks, the Romans would say: Do not stand between us and those (Muslims) who took prisoners from amongst us. Let us fight with them; and the Muslims would say: Nay, by Allah, we would never get aside from you and from our brethren that you may fight them. They will then fight and a third (part) of the army would run away, whom Allah will never forgive. A third (part of the army) which would be constituted of excellent martyrs in Allah’s eye, would be killed and the third who would never be put to trial would win and they would be conquerors of Constantinople. And as they would be busy in distributing the spoils of war (amongst themselves) after hanging their swords by the olive trees, the Satan would cry: The Dajjal has taken your place among your family. They would then come out, but it would be of no avail. And when they would come to Syria, he would come out while they would be still preparing themselves for battle drawing up the ranks. Certainly, the time of prayer shall come and then Jesus (peace be upon him) son of Mary would descend and would lead them. When the enemy of Allah would see him, it would (disappear) just as the salt dissolves itself in water and if he (Jesus) were not to confront them at all, even then it would dissolve completely, but Allah would kill them by his hand and he would show them their blood on his lance (the lance of Jesus Christ).

This hadith, also found in Sunan Ibn Majah 4095, Sahih al-Bukhari 3176, and Sunan Abi Dawud 4292, provides a clear context of what will happen in the future. It refers to a time when war will occur, coinciding with the arrival of the Antichrist and the return of Jesus. This event is not about gaining control over a country but arises from a shared reason that will lead to conflict. It describes the process by which the world will move toward its end. The war will result from disagreements between their beliefs. The hadith also indicates that Christians will remain until the return of Jesus. At that time, as mentioned in the Qur’an, Christians and Jews will believe in him, and the remaining population will accept the truth. However, the war will primarily involve armies from both sides due to disagree over belief.

📖Sahih Muslim 2937 a
What is the matter with you? We said: Allah’s Messenger, you made a mention of the Dajjal in the morning (sometimes describing him) to be insignificant and sometimes very important, until we began to think as if he were present in some (near) part of the cluster of the date-palm trees. Thereupon he (ﷺ) said: I harbor fear in regard to you in so many other things besides the Dajjal. If he comes forth while I am among you, I shall contend with him on your behalf, but if he comes forth while I am not amongst you, a man must contend on his own behalf and Allah would take care of every Muslim on my behalf (and safeguard him against his evil). He (Dajjal) would be a young man with twisted, contracted hair, and a blind eye. I compare him to `Abd-ul-`Uzza b. Qatan. He who amongst you would survive to see him should recite over him the opening verses of Sura Kahf (xviii). He would appear on the way between Syria and Iraq and would spread mischief right and left. O servant of Allah! adhere (to the path of Truth). We said: Allah’s Messenger, how long would he stay on the earth? He (ﷺ) said: For forty days, one day like a year and one day like a month and one day like a week and the rest of the days would be like your days. We said: Allah’s Messenger, would one day’s prayer suffice for the prayers of day equal to one year? Thereupon he (ﷺ) said: No, but you must make an estimate of time (and then observe prayer). We said: Allah’s Messenger, how quickly would he walk upon the earth? Thereupon he (ﷺ) said: Like cloud driven by the wind. He would come to the people and invite them (to a wrong religion) and they would affirm their faith in him and respond to him. He would then give command to the sky and there would be rainfall upon the earth and it would grow crops. Then in the evening, their pasturing, animals would come to them with their humps very high and their udders full of milk and their flanks stretched. He would then come to another people and invite them. But they would reject him and he would go away from them and there would be drought for them and nothing would be left with them in the form of wealth. He would then walk through the waste land and say to it: Bring forth your treasures, and the treasures would come out and collect (themselves) before him like the swarm of bees. He would then call a person brimming with youth and strike him with the sword and cut him into two pieces and (make these pieces lie at a distance which is generally) between the archer and his target. He would then call (that young man) and he will come forward laughing with his face gleaming (with happiness) and it would be at this very time that Allah would send Jesus, son of Mary, and he will descend at the white minaret in the eastern side of Damascus wearing two garments lightly dyed with saffron and placing his hands on the wings of two Angels. When he would lower his head, there would fall beads of perspiration from his head, and when he would raise it up, beads like pearls would scatter from it. Every non-believer who would smell the odor of his self would die and his breath would reach as far as he would be able to see. He would then search for him (Dajjal) until he would catch hold of him at the gate of Ludd and would kill him. Then a people whom Allah had protected would come to Jesus, son of Mary, and he would wipe their faces and would inform them of their ranks in Paradise and it would be under such conditions that Allah would reveal to Jesus these words: I have brought forth from amongst My servants such people against whom none would be able to fight; you take these people safely to Tur. And then Allah would send Gog and Magog and they would swarm down from every slope. The first of them would pass the lake of Tiberias and drink out of it. And when the last of them would pass, he would say: There was once water there. Jesus and his companions would then be besieged here (at Tur, and they would be so much hard pressed) that the head of the ox would be dearer to them than one hundred dinars and Allah’s Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would supplicate Allah, Who would send to them insects (which would attack their necks) and in the morning they would perish like one single person. Allah’s Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would then come down to the earth and they would not find in the earth as much space as a single span which is not filled with their putrefaction and stench. Allah’s Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would then again beseech Allah, Who would send birds whose necks would be like those of Bactrian camels and they would carry them and throw them where God would will. Then Allah would send rain which no house of clay or (the tent of) camels’ hairs would keep out and it would wash away the earth until it could appear to be a mirror. Then the earth would be told to bring forth its fruit and restore its blessing and, as a result thereof, there would grow (such a big) pomegranate that a group of persons would be able to eat that, and seek shelter under its skin and milch cow would give so much milk that a whole party would be able to drink it. And the milch camel would give such (a large quantity of) milk that the whole tribe would be able to drink out of that and the milch sheep would give so much milk that the whole family would be able to drink out of that and at that time Allah would send a pleasant wind which would soothe (people) even under their armpits, and would take the life of every Muslim and only the wicked would survive who would commit adultery like asses and the Last Hour would come to them.

📖Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2239
Anas bin Malik said: “Constantinople will be conquered with the coming of the Hour.”

  • There are references in Islam regarding the conquest of Constantinople, which is believed to have been fulfilled. However, these references often come from third-party sources. While this particular hadith can be interpreted as referring to that event, it is also possible that this hadith is part of Tirmidhi 2238. but, the two hadiths not align perfectly. In conclusion, this hadith most likely refers to an event that has already occurred, Does this mean Constantinople was taken from others? No, we don’t have direct references indicating that it was fulfilled when Muslims conquered Constantinople; however, we do have other references including this one that may suggest this. wich means the land always belonged to Muslims because, according to our belief, Jesus, Moses, and all the Prophets came with the Islamic revolution, and later their message was distorted and the land was taken by wrongdoers. Under the rule of Islam, they conquered it again, as it always belonged to them. This is a long topic, but I’ve provided a simple example. it’s also important to note that Muslims are also mostly people who once called themselves Christians in many regions, and this is a long topic to describe.

📖Tirmidhi 2238
The Prophet(s.a.w) said: The great Malhamah, the conquest of Constantinople, and the coming of the Dajjal occur in (the span of) seven months.

  • In previous narrations, it was foretold that Muslims would conquer Constantinople, a prophecy fulfilled in 1453 under Sultan Mehmed II there are other reference in Islam about the prophicy. However, Tirmidhi 2238 this particular hadith refers to a future event, suggesting that Constantinople will be lost by the Muslims and then reconquered once again. This interpretation highlights the cyclical nature of events in Islamic eschatology, where gains and losses serve as trials for the ummah.

The context of the hadith Tirmidhi 2238 and Sahih al-Bukhari 3176 is linked to the end time, and I will include the article in this discussion later.

📖Sahih al-Bukhari 2268
Narrated Ibn `Umar: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Your example and the example of the people of the two Scriptures (i.e. Jews and Christians) is like the example of a man who employed some laborers and asked them, ‘Who will work for me from morning till midday for one Qirat?’ The Jews accepted and carried out the work. He then asked, Who will work for me from midday up to the `Asr prayer for one Qirat?’ The Christians accepted and fulfilled the work. He then said, ‘Who will work for me from the `Asr till sunset for two Qirats?’ You, Muslims have accepted the offer. The Jews and the Christians got angry and said, ‘Why should we work more and get lesser wages?’ (Allah) said, ‘Have I withheld part of your right?’ They replied in the negative. He said, ‘It is My Blessing, I bestow upon whomever I wish .’

  • The hadith doesn’t explicitly assign years to these periods, but we can estimate based on other narrations and historical events:
  1. Morning till Midday (Jewish Era): Spans from the time of Prophet Musa (Moses) until Prophet Isa (Jesus). Historical estimates suggest this period was approximately 2,000 years, based on Jewish history. This aligns with narrations indicating that the Jewish era lasted longer than the Christian and Muslim eras combined.
  2. Midday to `Asr (Christian Era): Spans from the time of Prophet Isa (Jesus) until Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
This is historically known to be approximately 600 years, as Prophet Isa’s mission began around 1 CE, and Prophet Muhammad’s prophethood began in 610 CE.
  3. Asr to Sunset (Muslim Era): Spans from the time of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) until the Day of Judgment. Based on narrations, the Muslim era is expected to last 1,000 years, with an additional 500 years of extended grace (Sunan Abi Dawud 4350). This totals 1,500 years, leading us to the current timeline, as the Islamic calendar stands at 1446 AH (2025 CE).

It is also important to note that, in Islam, those who believed in the Torah before the coming of Jesus, and the Christians who believed in the Gospel before the coming of Prophet Muhammad, are considered Muslims because they submitted to the will of God. However, the terms “Jewish” and “Christian” are used to describe groups of people. The “Jewish” are considered a group of Muslims who used the term “Jewish,” but over time, corruption and lies entered their beliefs, leading to the coming of Jesus. Those who accepted him became known as “Christians,” a term that identified people who followed Jesus Christ and the God of Abraham. It is important to note that this was not a religion name given by God but rather a label that developed over time so other people know who they’re. When corruption entered Christianity as well, Prophet Muhammad was sent. Both the Jews who rejected Jesus and most Christians also then rejected Prophet Muhammad and they remained attached to their previous beliefs—Jews to the Torah and Christians to the Gospel. However, a group emerged from both communities, as well as others, who separated themselves from the corrupted beliefs and accepted the final message brought by Prophet Muhammad.

📖Tirmidhi 2214
The Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) said:
“The Hour and I were dispatched like these two” – and Abu Dawud(a narrator) indicated with his index and middle fingers- so, how much more(in length) is one then the other.

  1. This hadith refers to the closeness of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) to the events of the Hour (Day of Judgment). It has various interpretations, and some scholars believe it may hint at a time period, such as 1,500 years. This interpretation is based on the understanding that in another hadith, the index finger represents 1,000 years, and the additional length of the middle finger may symbolize an extra 500 years. Therefore, the gesture could be a reference to 1,500 years.
  2. It is important to clarify that this does not mean the world will end after 1,500 years, as only Allah knows the exact timing of the Hour. Instead, it may point to significant events such as the appearance of Imam Mahdi or the return of Prophet Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him), which are major signs of the Hour. Currently, we are in the year 1446 AH, and these interpretations suggest that such events could occur before the 1,500-year mark. However, providing an exact timeline is not permissible in Islam, as the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah alone. Such interpretations are based on scholarly calculations and are not definitive. The hadith serves as a reminder to Muslims to remain prepared for the Hereafter and to stay steadfast in their faith, as the time before the major signs of the Hour is limited.
  3. The Sunni scholars disagree with the interpretation of specifying a date for the end of the world, as it is considered haram (forbidden) to declare such a date since only Allah knows when the Day of Judgment will come. However, the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) did show his fingers in the hadith, indicating a timeframe. This suggests that the hadith points to a specific period, and it is possible to analyze what the fingers might represent. The hadith itself does not state that the world will end immediately after this timeframe, but rather it indicates a period in which significant events, such as the appearance of Imam Mahdi and the return of Jesus (peace be upon him), will occur. After Jesus leaves the world once again, it is believed that idolatry will rise again, which suggests that the world will continue for a time after his departure. Jesus (peace be upon him) will establish the Kingdom of God on Earth, and once corruption begins to spread once more, the Day of Judgment will approach. This interpretation aligns with the broader eschatological framework, showing that the world will not end immediately even after Jesus’ return and leave but will continue until corruption overtakes humanity, ultimately leading to the arrival of the Hour.

📖Sunan Abi Dawud 4350
Narrated Sa’d ibn AbuWaqqas: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: I hope my community will not fail to maintain their position in the sight of their Lord if He delays them half a day. Sa’d was asked: How long is half a day? He said: It is five hundred years.

This hadith clearly indicates that the day is referring to 1,000 years and half a day is 500 years, based on this hadith, in Tirmidhi 2214 When the Prophet showed his finger, he showed 1 and then the middle one, which means 1 and a half. If we interpret this hadith, he is actually referring to 1 day plus this additional 500 years, making a total of 1500 years, This interpretation is not based on any specific group, as in Islam there are Shia, Sufi, and Sunni. I do not follow sectarian beliefs; the interpretation is based on what the hadith actually indicates, that’s it. The lifespan does not mean the end of the community, as some articles on Google suggest, because it contradicts other hadiths. In other hadiths, it is mentioned that Jesus will return, establish the Kingdom of God, and then leave. After that, over time, idolatry will begin again, which indicates that the lifespan refers to the final period before the coming of the Mahdi and Jesus, who will most likely appear.

This kind of calculation can be seen as Isaac Newton also says, after reading the Bible, it means that if this doesn’t happen, we are wrong, and our understanding is not based on what the scripture says. That’s it.

  • For Newton, 2060 wasn’t the end but the start of a 1000-year Kingdom of God. He cited biblical prophets, envisioning an era of peace where “nations shall not lift up a sword against nation, It’s also important to note that Isaac Newton’s belief is different from mainstream Christianity. As a scientist and a Christian, his understanding of the Bible can be far better than others, so maybe he calculated the date based on numerical analysis, which is not possible for everyone to understand in the same way.

Keep in mind that the hadith serves as a sign that we can understand, but it does not refer to when the world will end. According to the Qur’an, only Allah knows when the Day of Judgment will come. However, this hadith refers to a timeframe in which Imam Mahdi and Jesus will appear, along with other events. It is unknown whether the fingers represent 1,000 and 500 years or something else. However, we have a similar context in another hadith, where the Prophet referred to one finger as representing 1,000 years.

📖Sunan Abi Dawud 4321
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) mentioned the Dajjal (Antichrist) saying: If he comes forth while I am among you I shall be the one who will dispute with him on your behalf, but if he comes forth when I am not among you, a man must dispute on his own behalf, and Allah will take my place in looking after every Muslim. Those of you who live up to his time should recite over him the opening verses of Surat al – Kahf, for they are your protection from his trial. We asked: How long will he remain on the earth ? He replied : Forty days, one like a year, one like a month, one like a week, and rest of his days like yours. We asked : Messenger of Allah, will one day’s prayer suffice us in this day which will be like a year ? He replied : No, you must make an estimate of its extent. Then Jesus son of Marry will descend at the white minaret to the east of Damascus. He will then catch him up at the date of Ludd and kill him.

  1. The Distortion of Time during the Antichrist’s Reign: – The hadith explains that during the reign of the Antichrist (Dajjal), the perception of time will be distorted. One day will feel like a year, one like a month, one like a week, and the rest of the days will feel like normal days. Interpretation: The key point here is that the **time itself does not change**, but the perception of time will be manipulated. For some, what feels like one day could actually span a much longer period in real-time. In a virtual world or under the influence of the Antichrist, time could be compressed or expanded depending on one’s experience.
  2. The Role of the Antichrist in the Virtual World (Metaverse):- In the Metaverse, people are immersed in a digital environment where time can be perceived differently. Activities and experiences can be manipulated so that a task that would normally take a year in the real world could be completed in just one day in the virtual world. Interpretation:During the reign of the Antichrist, individuals within the Metaverse might experience his manipulation in a way that feels like a **year’s worth of events happening in a single day**. The Antichrist, using this control over virtual time, could perform his deceptions and actions quickly, compressing what would normally take a year into just one day for those immersed in the Metaverse.
  3. Different Experiences for Those Outside the Metaverse: for those who are not part of the Metaverse, the world around them would still function under normal time. They will experience time like it normally is—one day after another, without the distortions felt by those within the virtual environment. Interpretation: While the Antichrist’s influence can be felt in the Metaverse, **outside the virtual world**, people will still experience time the traditional way. However, the Antichrist may still need to exert influence over those outside the Metaverse, requiring his full effort during the rest of the days mentioned in the hadith (e.g., a year-like day, a month-like day). These efforts would be crucial for his deception and manipulation of people who are not under his control in the virtual world.
  4. The Antichrist’s Manipulation of Time and Deception: The time described in the hadith—where one day could feel like a year, one like a month—reflects the scale of deception and control the Antichrist will have. For those in the Metaverse, this time distortion could represent how he is able to quickly complete his deceptions and gain control.
Interpretation: In the Metaverse, the Antichrist can achieve his goals in what seems like an incredibly short period**, using the distorted perception of time. However, for those outside the virtual world, his role will still require a longer period (as suggested by the hadith’s reference to different days being like months or years). He will work on these people during the “real” time of the world to continue his deception.

The Return of Jesus (Isa) to Restore Truth:- The hadith concludes with the descent of Jesus (Isa) to defeat the Antichrist and restore peace and truth. This event symbolizes the end of the trials and the return of normalcy. Interpretation: After the Antichrist’s time of manipulation, whether in the Metaverse or in the real world, Jesus’ return will bring back balance and truth**, ending the era of deception. His return will disrupt the distorted time and reality the Antichrist has created, restoring faith and justice.

📖Muslim, Book 41, Hadith 7034
The coming of Dajjal, presuming himself as an apostle of God The false messiah—anti-Christ, Masih ad-Dajjal—shall appear with great powers as a one-eyed man with his right eye blind and deformed like a grape. Although believers will not be deceived, he will claim to be God, to hold the keys to heaven and hell, and will lead many astray. In reality, his heaven is hell, and his hell is heaven. The Dajjal will be followed by seventy thousand Jews of Isfahan wearing Persian shawls.

Hadith on the Second Coming of Jesus and Imam Mahdi: Signs Preceding Their Arrival

The concept of the Mahdi in Islam refers to a divinely guided leader who will emerge at a time of great turmoil and chaos in the world, particularly when there is widespread corruption, war, and violence. The Mahdi will not be a prophet or messiah but will carry a title that signifies “The Guided One.” His name will be similar to that of the Prophet Muhammad, with his father’s name also mirroring that of the Prophet’s father. The Mahdi’s role is to serve as an Imam, a spiritual and leader, guiding the Muslim community back to the right path and protecting them from evil influences. His mission will be to restore justice and peace when the world is suffering from widespread evil and disorder.

📖Sunan Abi Dawud 4284
Narrated Umm Salamah, Ummul Mu’minin: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The Mahdi will be of my family, of the descendants of Fatimah. Abdullah ibn Ja’far said: I heard AbulMalih praising Ali ibn Nufayl and describing his good qualities.

📖Sunan Ibn Majah 4085
It was narrated from ‘Ali that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Mahdi is one of us, the people of the Household. Allah will rectify him in a single night.

📖Sunan Abi Dawud 4286 (weak)
Narrated Umm Salamah, Ummul Mu’minin: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Disagreement will occur at the death of a caliph and a man of the people of Medina will come flying forth to Mecca. Some of the people of Mecca will come to him, bring him out against his will and swear allegiance to him between the Corner and the Maqam. An expeditionary force will then be sent against him from Syria but will be swallowed up in the desert between Mecca and Medina. When the people see that, the eminent saints of Syria and the best people of Iraq will come to him and swear allegiance to him between the Corner and the Maqam. Then there will arise a man of Quraysh whose maternal uncles belong to Kalb and send against them an expeditionary force which will be overcome by them, and that is the expedition of Kalb. Disappointed will be the one who does not receive the booty of Kalb. He will divide the property, and will govern the people by the Sunnah of their Prophet (ﷺ) and establish Islam on Earth. He will remain seven years, then die, and the Muslims will pray over him.

Abu Dawud said: Some transmitted from Hisham “nine years” and some “seven years”.

📖Sunan Ibn Majah 4084
It was narrated from Thawban that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Three will fight one another for your treasure, each one of them the son of a caliph, but none of them will gain it. Then the black banners will come from the east, and they will kill you in an unprecedented manner.” Then he mentioned something that I do not remember, then he said: “When you see them, then pledge your allegiance to them even if you have to crawl over the snow, for that is the caliph of Allah, Mahdi.

  • The Hadith in Sunan Ibn Majah (4084), narrated by Thawban, conveys a prophecy from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): Three will fight one another for your treasure, each one of them the son of a caliph, but none of them will gain it. Then the black banners will come from the east, and they will kill you in an unprecedented manner.” He further said, “When you see them, pledge your allegiance to them, even if you have to crawl over the snow, for that is the caliph of Allah, Al-Mahdi. This Hadith, while classified as weak, is understood to reference a group associated with Imam Mahdi. The “black banners” symbolize a righteous army or group emerging from the east to confront injustice and oppression. The mention of “sons of a caliph” points to corrupt rulers or leaders vying for power and wealth, leading to widespread injustice. The group of Imam Mahdi is portrayed as divinely guided and tasked with restoring justice. Their emergence is described as decisive and revolutionary, with unprecedented conflict ensuing as they face resistance from oppressive regimes. This resistance, likely through military or state forces, leads to significant upheaval and loss of life.

📖Sahih Muslim 156
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: A section of my people will not cease fighting for the Truth and will prevail till the Day of Resurrection. He said: Jesus son of Mary would then descend and their (Muslims’) commander would invite him to come and lead them in prayer, but he would say: No, some amongst you are commanders over some (amongst you). This is the honour from Allah for this Ummah.

  • The commander in this hadith refers to Imam Mahdi Tirmidhi 2230, Sunan Abi Dawud 4283, Riyad as-Salihin 1824, whose original name will be the same as Prophet Muhammad’s name, and his father’s name will be the same as Prophet Muhammad’s father’s name. His role is simply that of a guide, as an imam or leader, as I mentioned in this article.

📖Luke 12:49
I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!

📖Sunan Abi Dawud 4324
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: There is no prophet between me and him, that is, Jesus (ﷺ). He will descent (to the earth). When you see him, recognise him: a man of medium height, reddish fair, wearing two light yellow garments, looking as if drops were falling down from his head though it will not be wet. He will fight the people for the cause of Islam. He will break the cross, kill swine, and abolish jizyah. Allah will perish all religions except Islam. He will destroy the Antichrist and will live on the earth for forty years and then he will die. The Muslims will pray over him.

The Quran and the sayings of Prophet Muhammad support the belief that Jesus will certainly return, According to Islamic belief, the second coming of Jesus will be a sign of the end of times and the start of the day of judgment. When he returns, he will rule according to the teachings of Islam and will unite all people under the religion.

📖Sahih Muslim 2907 a
‘A’isha reported: I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The (system) of night and day would not end until the people have taken to the worship of Lat and ‘Uzza. I said: Allah’s Messenger, I think when Allah has revealed this verse:” He it is Who has sent His Messenger with right guidance, and true religion, so that He may cause it to prevail upon all religions, though the polytheists are averse (to it)” (ix. 33), it implies that (this promise) is going to be fulfilled. Thereupon he (Allah’s Apostle) said: It would happen as Allah would like. Then Allah would send the sweet fragrant air by which everyone who has even a mustard grain of faith in Him would die and those only would survive who would have no goodness in them. And they would revert to the religion of their forefathers.

  1. This hadith from Sahih Muslim 2907a mentions a prophecy about the future of humanity after the time of Jesus’ departure. It indicates that even after Jesus (peace be upon him) has left the world, the system of night and day will continue, and people will still follow true guidance for a period. However, over time, Satan will mislead people, causing them to revert to the pagan practices of their ancestors, worshiping idols like Lat and ‘Uzza. This shift won’t occur immediately after Jesus’ departure, but will happen after some time has passed. The hadith further speaks of a divine event in which Allah will send a sweet, fragrant air that will cause all those who possess even the smallest amount of faith to pass away. Only those who have no goodness in them will remain. These survivors will then return to the religion of their forefathers. This event is reminiscent of the concept of the “rapture” in Christianity, where believers are taken away, but in Islam, this event is associated with death rather than a physical ascension to heaven. Unlike the Christian interpretation, which suggests believers will be taken to heaven without dying, Islam holds that humans must experience death before entering paradise, a concept rooted in the teachings of the Old Testament. Prophets, being chosen by God, may be exceptions to this rule, but for regular humans, death is necessary for the transition to the afterlife.
  2. It’s also important to note that In the Old Testament, there are two prominent figures—Enoch and Elijah—who are believed to have been taken by God without experiencing physical death. Enoch (Genesis 5:24) “walked with God, and he was not, for God took him,” suggesting that he was taken directly to God, bypassing death. Similarly, Elijah (2 Kings 2:11) was taken up into heaven in a chariot of fire, leaving no trace of his death. These events are often seen as unique exceptions, where God chose not to allow these prophets to die in the conventional sense. The idea that these figures are still alive is present in various interpretations, especially in the context of eschatological events, where they may return in the future. One such interpretation is that the **Mahdi** could potentially be the soul of either **Enoch** or **Elijah**, This interpretation suggests that these two prophets, who were taken up by God without experiencing death—**Enoch** (Genesis 5:24) and **Elijah** (2 Kings 2:11)—are still alive in some way, and their souls might return to fulfill a significant role in the end times. In Islamic eschatology, the **Mahdi** is believed to be a messianic figure who will appear before the Day of Judgment to restore justice and righteousness. Some interpretations suggest that the Mahdi’s soul could be that of one of these two prophets, who were preserved by God for a future purpose, rather than their physical bodies returning.

📖Tirmidhi 2230
The Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) said:
“The world shall not pass away until a man from the people of my family rules the Arabs whose name agrees with my name.

📖Sunan Abi Dawud 4283
Narrated Ali ibn AbuTalib:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If only one day of this time (world) remained, Allah would raise up a man from my family who would fill this earth with justice as it has been filled with oppression.

📖Riyad as-Salihin 1824
Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “From your caliphs there will be one in the Last Days who will distribute wealth without counting it. (Muslim)

📖Tirmidhi 2233
The Prophet (s.a.w) said: “By the One in Whose Hand is my soul! Ibn Maryam shall soon descend among you, judging justly. He shall break the cross, kill the pig, remove the Jizyah, and wealth will be so bountiful that there will be none to accept it.

  • In this hadith, “breaking the cross” refers to the time when Jesus will return, and Christians and Jews will come to know the truth. He will order the cessation of using the cross because he was not crucified on it. “Killing the pig” refers to the end of eating pork, as Christians still eat it, which is forbidden in the Old Testament. However, in the New Testament, some verses, especially those from Paul, are interpreted as allowing all things, which goes against the law of Moses. Jesus did not come to change anything from the Old Testament; rather, he came to complete it as its message remains unchanged. So after the second coming, either he will completely forbid eating pork, which could be metaphorically understood as “killing the pig,” or it is possible that God will give him the power to make pigs disappear from the world.

📖Tirmidhi 2217
Salim bin ‘Abdullas [bin ‘Umar] narrated from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: “A fire is coming from Hadramawt- before the Day of Judgement- to gather the people.” They said: “O Messenger of Allah! What do you order us?” He said: “Stick to Ash-Sham.”

📖Sahih Muslim 2901 a
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) came to us all of a sudden as we were (busy in a discussion). He said: What do you discuss about? They (the Companions) said. We are discussing about the Last Hour. Thereupon he said: It will not come until you see ten signs before and (in this connection) he made a mention of the smoke, Dajjal, the beast, the rising of the sun from the west, the descent of Jesus son of Mary (Allah be pleased with him), the Gog and Magog, and land-slides in three places, one in the east, one in the west and one in Arabia at the end of which fire would burn forth from the Yemen, and would drive people to the place of their assembly.

📖Sahih Muslim 2901 b:
Allah’s Apostle (ﷺ) was in an apartment and we were beneath that, that he peeped in and said to us: What are you discussing about? We said: (We are discussing about the Last) Hour. Thereupon he said: The Last Hour would not come until the ten signs appear: land-sliding in the east, and land-sliding in the west, and land-sliding in the peninsula of Arabia, the smoke, the Dajjal, the beast of the earth, Gog and Magog, the rising of the sun from the west and the fire which would emit from the lower part of ‘Adan. Shu’ba said that ‘Abd al-‘Aziz b. Rufai’ reported on the authority of Abu Tufail who reported on the authority of Abu Sariha a hadith like this that Allah’s Apostle (ﷺ) did not make a mention of (the tenth sign) but he said that out of the ten one was the descent of Jesus, son of Mary (peace be upon him), and in another version it is the blowing of the violent gale which would drive the people to the ocean.

📖Sahih al-Bukhari 7067
Ibn Mas`ud added: I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saying; (It will be) from among the most wicked people who will be living at the time when the Hour will be established.

📖Tirmidhi 488
The Prophet said: “The best day that the sun has risen upon is Friday. On it Adam was created, on it he entered Paradise, and on it, he was expelled from it. And the Hour will not be established except on Friday.

Additional Information

This article underscores the significance of reading the Hadiths with understanding, especially for those who believe in the second coming of Jesus, which is linked to his descent from heaven. The Hadiths provide important insights for anyone with this belief, highlighting that the return of Jesus will indeed be associated with conflict, but not on a global scale involving all of humanity. Instead, the Hadiths describe specific groups engaging in battles over certain reasons, with the Antichrist’s emergence playing a key role in these events. While the conflict will be significant, it is not a universal war targeting all Christians or Jews. Both Islamic and Christian traditions emphasize Jesus’ return from heaven, but the Hadiths focus on the specific circumstances surrounding his descent, such as his arrival in Damascus and his role in combating the Antichrist. For those who understand and believe in these prophecies, the Hadiths offer clarity on how these events will unfold in the final days, The interpretation in some Hadiths is my own, such as regarding the metaverse, etc. These interpretations are not according to any scholars, but rather personal explanations. If you have a better interpretation and how you understand them, it is up to each person. However, you can think about how the metaverse and Neuralink could play a role. It is not necessary that this is true, but it is just a personal explanation based on thinking and realizing the Hadiths within the context of modern technology.
