What is the Quran?
▼
The Quran is the central religious text of Islam, regarded by Muslims as the verbatim word of God (Allah) revealed to the Prophet Muhammad over a period of approximately 23 years beginning in 610 CE. It serves as a comprehensive guide for personal conduct, social justice, spiritual growth, and moral principles. Comprising 114 chapters (Surahs) and over 6,000 verses (Ayahs), the Quran addresses themes such as monotheism, prophethood, the afterlife, ethics, and the natural world. It is recited daily in prayers (Salah) and memorized in its entirety by millions as an act of devotion. The Quran's linguistic miracle lies in its inimitable Arabic prose, rhythm, and depth, making it a profound source of reflection, inspiration, and legal foundation for Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh). Its preservation in its original form without alteration underscores its divine authenticity for believers.

You can easily switch languages via the dropdown menu in the header, and changes will apply when viewing a Surah. We're actively expanding support to include more languages such as Spanish, French, Indonesian, and Bengali in upcoming releases. This multilingual approach ensures that the Quran's message of guidance and mercy reaches seekers from every corner of the world, promoting inclusivity and deeper personal connection with the divine revelation.

▼
Playing audio in the app is simple and intuitive. For individual Ayahs, tap or click the play icon (speaker symbol) next to each verse to listen to a high-quality recitation by renowned Qari Mishary Rashid Alafasy. Listening to the Quran is a form of worship (Ibadah) that brings tranquility to the heart, as mentioned in Surah Ar-Ra'd (13:28): "Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest." Use headphones for an immersive experience during commutes or quiet reflection.
Can I copy Ayahs?

Yes, you can easily copy any Ayah by clicking the copy icon (clipboard symbol) next to it. This will capture both the original Arabic text and the selected translation, formatted neatly with the Ayah number for easy sharing or note-taking. Copying Ayahs is a practical way to memorize, reflect, or share the Quran's profound messages with others, fostering community and dawah (invitation to Islam). Remember, sharing the Quran's verses can be a means of reward (Thawab), as the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) encouraged spreading knowledge.
