Believers testify to righteousness and sin

📖Sahih al-Bukhari 2642
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, The believers are the witnesses of Allah on the earth.”

This hadith emphasizes the special role and responsibility of believers as representatives and witnesses of Allah in this world. Being a “witness of Allah” means that believers uphold the truth, justice, and righteousness according to Allah’s commands. Their conduct, character, and actions reflect the divine guidance, serving as examples for others, Believers bear testimony through their faith, good deeds, and by calling others to what is right and forbidding what is wrong. Their lives demonstrate the presence and authority of Allah on earth, making them accountable for spreading His message and embodying His will.

How Believers Are Witnesses:

  • They spread the message of Islam with sincerity and wisdom.
  • They are accountable for their words and deeds and bear witness against wrongdoers.

And thus We have made you a just community that you will be witnesses over the people and the Messenger will be a witness over you.

📖Quran 4:135
O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives.

They are not [all] the same; among the People of the Scripture is a community standing [in obedience], reciting the verses of Allah during periods of the night and prostrating [in prayer]. They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and hasten to good deeds. And those are among the righteous.
