Not allowed to separate sitting people
đSunan al-TirmidhiÌ 2752
Narrated ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr: The Messenger of Allah ï·ș said: âIt is not lawful for a man to separate two people except with their permission.â
Description:
This Hadith protects relationships, unity, and trust. Islam forbids interfering in peopleâs bonds – whether friendships, marriages, or family – unless both sides agree. Breaking connections without consent is oppression, not righteousness.
How it applies today:
This Hadith is shattered in todayâs world:
- Divorce manipulation: Influencing one spouse with lies or jealousy to break their marriage.
- Parental alienation: Turning kids against one parent after divorce – especially making a child hate their mother or father just to âwin custody.â
- Friendship sabotage: Spreading rumors to break close friends apart.
- Religious division: Pitting Muslims against one another over sects or leaders, using deceit and emotions.
All of these are acts of separating people without their permission – and they are not just wrong, theyâre haram.
Quranic Context:
đQuran 2:102
…They learned from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by Allahâs permission…
This refers to sorcery – but today, people do the same with gossip, manipulation, and fake advice.
đQuran 49:12
O you who have believed, avoid much suspicion. Indeed, some suspicion is sin. And do not spy or backbite one another…
Backbiting and spying lead to mistrust and separation – exactly what the Prophet ï·ș warned against.
đQuran 28:4
Indeed, Pharaoh exalted himself in the land and made its people into factions, oppressing a sector among them…
Creating division is a Pharaonic trait – not a prophetic one.
So if youâre the type who breaks bonds, fuels drama, or plays innocent while dividing families – youâre not guided. Youâre just another modern âPharaohâ in disguise.
