All Prophets are Equal in Islam

📖Sahih Muslim 2373 c
Abu Huraira reported that two persons, one from among the Jews and the other from among the Muslims, got into a dispute and began insulting each other. The Muslim said: “By Him Who chose Muhammad ﷺ over all the worlds.” The Jew replied: “By Him Who chose Moses over all the worlds.” So the Muslim struck the Jew on the face. The Jew went to the Prophet ﷺ to complain. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Do not give me superiority over Moses. On the Day of Judgment, all mankind will fall unconscious. I will be the first to recover, and I will see Moses holding on to the Throne. I do not know if he too fell unconscious and awoke before me, or if he was exempted by Allah.”

Explanation:
This hadith shows the humility of the Prophet ﷺ and warns against religious pride that leads to conflict. Even though Muhammad ﷺ is the final Messenger, he forbade boasting about it, especially in a way that disrespects other prophets. Truth should be spoken with dignity, not with arrogance or fists.

Quranic Context:

📖Quran 2:285
The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers, saying: “We make no distinction between any of His messengers.” And they say, “We hear and obey. [Grant us] Your forgiveness, our Lord. To You is the final destination.”
→ Islam teaches respect for all prophets. We do not place one above the other in a way that causes conflict or pride.
