The Five Daily Prayers
📖Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 612
Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “When you perform the dawn prayer, its time is until the first rising of the sun. Then, when you perform noon prayer, its time is until the presence of afternoon. When you perform the afternoon prayer, its time is until the sun turns yellow. When you perform the sunset prayer, its time is until the twilight has disappeared. When you perform the evening prayer, its time is until midnight.”
Description
This hadith explains the designated times for the five daily prayers, emphasizing their importance and the proper timing for each. Daily Salah is a central pillar of Islam, a direct command from Allah, and a consistent reminder of His presence throughout the day. These timings are derived from Qur’anic guidance and demonstrate the rhythm of worship that organizes a believer’s day.
