A Divine Gift for Creation
📖Sahih Muslim 2753 a
Salman al-Farisi reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: “Verily, there are one hundred parts of mercy for Allah, and it is one part of this mercy by virtue of which there is mutual love between the people, and ninety-nine are reserved for the Day of Resurrection.”
Meaning:
This Hadith shows that every bit of compassion, love, care, and kindness in the world today comes from just 1% of Allah’s mercy.
That one part is what makes:
- A mother cry over her child
- A stranger help someone in pain
- People forgive even when hurt
- Animals show love to each other
This one part was sent down for this life, while the remaining 99 parts are reserved for the Day of Judgment – when Allah will deal with His servants in a way that’s beyond our understanding of forgiveness.
When That 100% Mercy Returns:
On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will use the full 100 parts of His mercy for the believers – forgiving them, raising their ranks, and removing all hatred and jealousy from their hearts.
📖Quran 15:47
“And We will remove whatever is in their hearts of resentment, [so they will be] brothers, on thrones facing each other.”
➡ In Paradise, no jealousy, no grudges, no hurt – only peace and love.
The mercy we see in this world is just a sample. The full mercy will:
- Heal every emotional wound
- Wipe out envy and sadness
- Make every believer content with what they receive
- Remove any feeling of “why did they get more?”
In this world, mercy is limited by ego and imperfection. In the next, it’s pure, divine, and endless.
More Quranic Context:
📖Quran 16:90
Indeed, Allah commands justice, good conduct, and giving to relatives, and forbids immorality, bad conduct, and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded.
➡ Mercy drives us to do justice with kindness.
📖Quran 21:107
And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.
➡ The Prophet ﷺ is the living guide for how to use that one part of mercy in real life.
📖Quran 7:56
Do not cause corruption on the earth after it has been set in order, and call upon Him in fear and hope. Surely, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good.
➡ The more we live with mercy, the closer we are to Allah’s mercy.
