Diseases and Their Cures
📖Sunan Ibn Majah 3438
It was narrated from ‘Abdullah that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Allah does not send down any disease, but He also sends down the cure for it.”
This powerful Hadith reminds us of the divine wisdom and mercy of Allah. Every trial, including illness, is a part of the design of life, and for every disease, Allah has provided a means of healing. This highlights Allah’s complete control over everything, including our physical well-being. Diseases are not without purpose, and neither are their cures. Allah, in His mercy, has provided humanity with the knowledge, resources, and remedies that are needed to heal from ailments, Allah’s promise that there is a cure for every disease is not just about miraculous cures, but also about the means He has made available to us. Sometimes, the cure comes through medicine, other times through natural remedies, and sometimes through a process of spiritual healing. Everything, ultimately, comes from Allah, who has created all of it – the disease and the cure – as part of His plan.
How Allah has sent cures:
- Natural Remedies: Allah created natural substances with healing properties, such as herbs, plants, and other elements of the earth. These can serve as remedies for various illnesses.
- Medical Knowledge: Allah has granted knowledge to people in various fields, including medicine. This knowledge allows scientists and doctors to develop cures for diseases.
- Spiritual Healing: Sometimes, healing comes through faith, supplication, and reliance on Allah. Spiritual remedies, such as prayer, may offer comfort and healing.
- Modern Medicine: The advancements in medical science, pharmaceuticals, and technologies are all part of the cure Allah has provided through the intellect and research He has enabled humanity to discover.

📖Quran 41:44
