Worldly Perception of Believers and Disbelievers
đSunan Ibn Majah 4113
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah ï·ș said: âThis world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the disbeliever.â
Description:
This Hadith shows the contrast between the believerâs life in this world and the reward waiting in the Hereafter.
For the believer, this world is like a prison, not because it’s full of misery, but because they restrain themselves from many desires, sins, and pleasures that go against Allahâs commands. They live with discipline, patience, and self-control, often facing trials, mockery, or hardship in staying on the right path, But for the disbeliever, the world is like a paradise, they follow their desires freely, chase after wealth, fame, and comfort, without worrying about what Allah has forbidden. It seems like they enjoy everything, but itâs temporary, and they have nothing waiting in the Hereafter except regret.
This Hadith doesnât say believers canât enjoy life, but it reminds us that our real joy is in the Hereafter, not in chasing this temporary world.
How Is the World a Prison for Believers?
- They guard their eyes, tongue, and actions.
- They miss out on certain pleasures to obey Allah.
- They may be tested with loss, pain, or poverty â but they remain patient.
- They remember the Hereafter and donât chase the world blindly.
How Is the World a Paradise for Disbelievers?
- They live by desires without concern for halal or haram.
- They enjoy luxury, status, and power.
- They donât prepare for the Hereafter â so this life becomes their only âheavenâ.
Quranic Context:
đQuran 3:185
âEvery soul shall taste death. And you will only be given your full reward on the Day of Resurrection. So whoever is saved from the Fire and admitted into Paradise has truly won. And the life of this world is nothing but the enjoyment of delusion.â
⥠This world is a temporary illusion â real reward is in the afterlife.
đQuran 10:69
âSay, âIndeed, those who fabricate lies against Allah will never succeed.â [It is] a brief enjoyment in this world; then to Us is their return, then We will make them taste the severe punishment for what they used to deny.â
⥠Disbelievers may enjoy this world briefly â but they face the truth eventually.
đQuran 43:33-35
âAnd were it not that mankind would become one community [of disbelievers], We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Most Merciful silver roofs for their houses and [even] the stairs by which they ascend. And for their houses – doors and couches [of silver] upon which to recline, and gold ornaments. But all that is not but the enjoyment of worldly life. And the Hereafter with your Lord is for the righteous.â
⥠Allah could have given disbelievers all luxury, but the true reward is for the righteous.
Whatâs the issue if we do haram things?
If your god allows you to do haramâŠ
Then ask yourself:
-
If your god allows you to watch porn,
then what kind of mercy is that?
Girls and Boys doing this often do it out of poverty, manipulation, or trauma.
Instead of helping them, youâre supporting the industry that exploits them.
So your god allows you to feed the system that destroys lives? -
If your god allows you to ignore injustice,
why are you quiet when people are scammed through fake ads?
If itâs okay to spread lies for money, then is truth worthless in your religion? -
If your god allows you to mock prophets, religion, or make blasphemy viral,
then what stops the society from falling into pure disrespect and chaos?
You call it âfreedom,â but itâs freedom to insult, not freedom to build character. -
If your god allows girls to show everything online,
just to get attention or money,
then your god doesnât protect their honor – he uses them for profit.
And the viewers? Theyâre trained to see women as objects, not humans. -
If your god allows you to live with no limits,
then why is depression, emptiness, and suicide increasing, not happiness?
Consequences of Ignoring Morality
- If your religion allows filth, then itâs not divine – itâs designed by the devil.
- True religion puts limits for the benefit of society, not to torture you.
- No creator would allow people to degrade their own soul and call it âfreedom.â
- When haram becomes normal, human dignity collapses.
Quranic Context:
đQuran 7:33
âSay: My Lord has only forbidden immoralitiesâwhat is apparent of them and what is hiddenâand sin, and oppression without right, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has sent down no authority, and that you say about Allah that which you do not know.â
⥠Allah forbids evil, even if society normalizes it.
đQuran 24:19
âIndeed, those who like that immorality should be spread among the believers will have a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter.â
⥠Promoting indecency is itself a major sin.
đQuran 2:169
âHe (Satan) commands you only to do evil and indecency and to say about Allah what you do not know.â
⥠Thatâs where âfreedomâ without morality leads, straight to Satanâs commands, In this verse, Satan isn’t referred to directly as the Devil; rather, it’s a collective term encompassing both jinn and humans who follow the Devil’s path. They are united in their misguidance, with the Devil using them as instruments to lead others astray.
