Idolatry and False Prophets
📖Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2219
Thawban narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The Hour shall not be established until tribes of my Ummah unite with the idolaters, and until they worship idols. And indeed there shall be thirty imposters in my Ummah, each of them claiming that he is a Prophet. And I am the last of the Prophets, there is no Prophet after me.”
This Hadith is not an order, it’s a prophecy. It warns believers that some groups within the Muslim Ummah will choose to align with idolaters and even participate in idol worship. These are not forced acts, these people will willingly choose this path, likely out of hatred, division, or personal desires. They will abandon Islam in search of peace or joy elsewhere — with those who reject Allah, The Hadith is a clear warning, not only about disloyalty to faith, but also about future deception. Thirty liars will rise, claiming Prophethood but none of them are true. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ made it final: There is no prophet after him, As for the return of Jesus, he is not coming with a new message. He already came as a Prophet and Messenger to Bani Israel. When he returns, he will not bring a new religion or claim to be the final prophet, he will follow the Qur’an and Sunnah, confirm his previous mission, and testify to the truth. His return is from heaven, and the whole world will see him.
Quranic Context:
📖Quran 33:40
Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the last of the Prophets. And Allah has perfect knowledge of all things.
This seals the finality of Prophethood with Muhammad ﷺ. No one else can claim it after him.
📖Quran 4:159
And there is none from the People of the Scripture but that he will surely believe in him [Jesus] before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection, he will be a witness against them.
This affirms his return, and that people will recognize him before the end.
