Are there horses in Paradise?

📖Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2544
Abu Ayyub reported: A Bedouin came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, “O Messenger of Allah, I love horses. Will there be horses in Paradise?” The Prophet said, If you enter Paradise, you will be given a horse of rubies with two wings to mount, then it will fly with you wherever you wish.

Description:

This hadith illustrates the extraordinary and unimaginable delights awaiting the believers in Paradise. The horse described is not like any earthly horse; it will be made of rubies and have wings to fly, symbolizing the perfect ease and pleasure in the Hereafter. The pleasures of Paradise are beyond our worldly experience and imagination.

Quranic Verse:

📖Quran 41:31
We are your allies in this worldly life and in the Hereafter. And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request.”

Explanation of Limits:

The phrase “whatever you wish” in Paradise does not mean unlimited freedom to act against Allah’s divine order or the perfect harmony of Heaven. Rather, it means that within the boundaries set by Allah’s wisdom, all desires will be fulfilled in a way that brings true and everlasting happiness, While the Quran says in Paradise, “you will have therein whatever your souls desire” (Quran 41:31), this does not mean you can wish for something impossible or contradictory to Allah’s nature – like wanting to be God.

  • Allah’s Oneness (Tawhid) is absolute and unchallengeable. No creature can become Allah or possess His divine attributes.
  • The wishes granted in Paradise are always pure, good, and in harmony with Allah’s perfect order.
  • Importantly, no person who harbors such arrogant or sinful desires will enter Paradise. Allah knows the condition of every heart and soul.
  • Those with such a mindset and heart belong to Hell, as they reject true submission and humility.
  • The people who enter Paradise have souls and hearts completely free from hatred, jealousy, arrogance, and sinful desires.
  • When they enter Paradise, all negative feelings are removed; their souls become pure and focused only on goodness and eternal happiness.
  • They will ask for and receive only what benefits their eternal joy – never harmful or impossible desires.
  • This perfect purification ensures that all wishes granted in Paradise are aligned with Allah’s mercy and wisdom.

So, “whatever you wish” means all good and permissible desires will be fulfilled – never impossible or sinful ones.
