The Value of Inner Beauty in Islam

📖Sahih Muslim 2622
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: “Many a person with disheveled hair and covered with dust is turned away from the doors (whereas he is held in such high esteem by Allah) that if he were to adjure in the name of Allah (about anything), Allah would fulfill it.”

This hadith is a profound reminder that true worth in the sight of Allah is not based on appearance, wealth, or social status, but on sincerity, humility, and deep connection with Allah. The one whom society overlooks—poor, unkempt, dusty—is sometimes so beloved to Allah that their dua (supplication) carries immense weight. It shatters superficial judgments and elevates the inner spiritual rank over the external image. It teaches us to never underestimate anyone, because what the world may dismiss, Allah may honor beyond imagination.

This message is deeply rooted in the Qur’an:

📖Quran 2:186
“And when My servants ask you concerning Me—indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me…”

However, this verse does not mean that every dua will be fulfilled exactly as we want and immediately. The context from other authentic hadiths explains that if a person asks for something that is not written in their destiny, Allah may withhold it, grant something better, or store it as a reward in the Hereafter.

The response to a dua is guaranteed—but how and when it is answered is based on Allah’s perfect wisdom.

📖Musnad Aḥmad 11133
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“There is no Muslim who calls upon Allah with a supplication—wherein there is no sin or cutting of family ties—except that Allah will give him one of three things: He will either fulfill his request, delay it for the Hereafter, or avert an equivalent evil from him.”

This balance between divine nearness and divine wisdom is what makes dua a powerful act of faith: we ask, and trust that Allah knows best.
