Allah’s Guidance for Harmonious Interaction
📖Riyad as-Salihin 1589
‘Iyad bin Himar (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said,
“Verily, Allah has revealed to me that you should adopt humility. So that no one may wrong another and no one may be disdainful and haughty towards another.”
This hadith emphasizes the divine command for humility, not as a suggestion, but as a revelation from Allah, showing its weight and spiritual depth. The Prophet ﷺ is conveying a message directly inspired by revelation, echoing multiple verses of the Qur’an that command believers to avoid arrogance and treat one another with respect.
One such verse is:
📖Quran 31:18
“And do not turn your face away from people in arrogance, nor walk in pride on the earth. Indeed, Allah does not like the arrogant and boastful.”
This verse perfectly complements the hadith, reinforcing the core Islamic principle that humility is a divine value—a means of preventing injustice, arrogance, and societal division. Through humility, believers are reminded that no one is inherently superior to another, and it is only righteousness (taqwa) that elevates status in the sight of Allah.
📖Quran 49:13
“Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you.”
Together, the hadith and these verses guide Muslims to embody humility in both attitude and action, creating a society grounded in dignity, justice, and sincere brotherhood.
