Understanding Islam is key to all goodness
📖Sunan Ibn Mājah 220
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, Whomever Allah intends goodness for, He grants him understanding of the religion (fiqh).”
Explanation:
This Hadith is short but deep. The Prophet ﷺ gives us a clear sign of Allah’s favor:
If Allah wants good for you, He opens your heart to understand Islam deeply.
This doesn’t just mean memorizing, it means:
- Knowing what’s halal and haram.
- Knowing the wisdom behind rulings.
- Knowing how to act, not just what is written.
- Knowing how to apply Islam in modern life.
- Knowing the balance between justice, mercy, rules, and intention.
What we learn today:
- Religious understanding is a sign of Allah’s love, not just prayer or dress.
- Real “fiqh” means living by Islam, not just knowing Arabic or copying scholars blindly.
- Many learn Islam without understanding it, and become extreme or blind followers.
- Others don’t want to learn at all, and they chase money, status, or trends. This is a sign Allah has not chosen goodness for them—a scary sign.
How does Allah give understanding?
- He opens your heart to seek truth.
- He gives you sincerity, not ego.
- He connects you with scholars, teachers, or content that guide you right.
- He removes pride, so you accept correction.
Quranic Context:
📖Quran 58:11
Allah will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees.”
↪ Shows knowledge is a spiritual elevation.
📖Quran 20:114
My Lord, increase me in knowledge.”
↪ Even the Prophet ﷺ was told to ask for more knowledge – because it leads to guidance.
📖Quran 39:9
Are those who know equal to those who do not know?”
↪ Knowledge is not optional; it’s what separates truth from ignorance.
