Hadith on Faith: Teachings for a Righteous Life
📖Jami` at-Tirmidhi 616
Sulaim bin Amir narrated: “I heard Abu Umamah saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah giving a Khutbah during the Farewell Hajj, and he said: ‘Have Taqwa of your Lord, and pray your five (prayers), and fast your month, and pay the Zakat on your wealth, and obey those who are in charge of you, you will enter the Paradise of your Lord.’”
🔹 Key Lessons:
-
Taqwa (God-consciousness) is the foundation of faith and leads to righteousness.
-
Fulfilling religious duties—prayer, fasting, and Zakat—ensures spiritual discipline.
-
Obedience to rightful authority (within Islamic principles) maintains order and stability.
-
Promise of Paradise: Those who sincerely follow these commands are assured Jannah.
This hadith highlights that faith is not just belief but also obedience and action. Those who fulfill these obligations sincerely will attain Allah’s mercy and reward.
