The Perils of Nitpicking and Extremism in Religion

📖Sahih Muslim 2670
Abdullah reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: “Ruined were those who indulged in hair-splitting.” (He repeated this three times.)

Islam encourages moderation, wisdom, and following clear guidance rather than indulging in unnecessary complexity.

4. Practical Application in Daily Life:

   • Avoiding Endless Debates: Engaging in never-ending arguments about small details that do not affect one’s faith can be harmful and lead to arrogance.

   • Focusing on Spiritual Growth: Instead of getting caught up in unnecessary legal technicalities, one should focus on personal development, acts of worship, and good character.

   • Unity Over Division: Many sectarian disputes arise from over-analyzing secondary issues while neglecting the fundamental principles of Islam. Staying united is more important than winning arguments.
