Deeds and Determining Final Destination
Sahih Muslim 2651
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Verily, a man would perform the deeds of the people of Paradise for a long time, then his deeds would be concluded with the deeds of the people of Hell. And verily, a man would perform the deeds of the people of Hell for a long time, and then his deeds would be concluded with the deeds of the people of Paradise.
- This hadith from Sahih Muslim 2651, speaks about the possibility that a person may perform righteous deeds for a long time and end up performing evil deeds at the end of their life, and vice versa. This is a reminder that a person’s final destination is determined by their overall state at the time of death, not just by their past deeds. Therefore, one should always strive to maintain a consistent level of good deeds throughout their life.
📖Surah Al-Isra (17:84)
“Say, ‘Each works according to his manner, but your Lord is most knowing of who is best guided in way.’”
🔹 This verse supports the idea that a person’s true end is known only to Allah, and what truly matters is the final state of guidance or misguidance.
