Helping Oppressors and Oppressed

📖 Sahih al-Bukhari 6065
Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “Do not hate one another, and do not be jealous of one another, and do not desert each other, and O, Allah’s worshipers! Be brothers. Lo! It is not permissible for any Muslim to desert (not talk to) his brother (Muslim) for more than three days.”

Explanation

This hadith highlights the importance of love, unity, and brotherhood in Islam. The Prophet (ﷺ) warns against:
Hatred – Holding grudges destroys relationships and weakens the Muslim community.
Jealousy – It leads to resentment and prevents contentment.
Abandoning fellow Muslims – Islam teaches reconciliation and forbids breaking ties for more than three days.

Instead, Muslims are commanded to treat each other like family, fostering kindness, mercy, and forgiveness.

Qur’anic References

🔹 This verse perfectly aligns with the hadith, emphasizing that Muslims are one family and must resolve conflicts quickly.

📖Surah Al-Imran (3:103)
“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided…”
🔹 This verse reminds Muslims to stay united and not let hatred or jealousy create divisions.

📖Surah Al-Hashr (59:10)

🔹 This verse teaches believers to purify their hearts from hatred and pray for one another instead.

📖Surah An-Nur (24:22)
“And let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.”
🔹 Just as we seek Allah’s forgiveness, we should also forgive others and not hold grudges.

Conclusion

This hadith and the supporting Qur’anic verses strongly encourage love, unity, and quick reconciliation among Muslims. Hatred, jealousy, and prolonged disputes weaken faith and harm the community. Islam teaches that forgiveness, kindness, and brotherhood lead to Allah’s mercy and blessings.
