Cruelty and Harsh Arguments

📖Sahih Muslim 2668
Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, the most hated man to Allah is the one who is fiercest in an argument.”

This Hadith highlights a dangerous trait: being stubborn, aggressive, and argumentative, especially when someone always wants to win debates, even if it means twisting the truth. Such a person argues not for clarity or justice but for ego, dominance, and pride. This behavior breeds arrogance, breaks unity, and fuels hatred among people — which is why it is deeply hated by Allah.

List of Similar Traits Hated by Allah:

  1. Fiercest in argument – Always wants to prove others wrong, even at the cost of truth.
  2. Arrogance – Thinking one is better than others.
  3. Pride in speech – Speaking in a boastful or manipulative way.
  4. Hard-heartedness – No mercy or empathy in dealings.
  5. Backbiting & slander – Speaking ill of others behind their back.
  6. Hypocrisy – Pretending to be righteous while being corrupt inside.
  7. Spreading corruption – Causing fitnah, mischief, or division in society.
  8. Mocking others – Making fun of people’s faith, background, or appearance.
  9. Self-righteousness – Always thinking others are wrong, and only they are right.
