Prophet Abraham is best of creation

📖Sahih Muslim 2369 a
Anas b. Malik reported that a person came to Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) and said: O, the best of creation; thereupon Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: He is Ibrahim (peace be upon him).

  • This hadith is a narration recorded in Sahih Muslim, one of the most authentic collections of Hadith in Islam. According to this hadith, a person came to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and addressed him with the title “O the best of creation.” In response, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that the true owner of this title is Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him). The hadith indicates that while Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was undoubtedly a great and noble Prophet, he recognized the excellence and superiority of the Prophets who came before him. Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) is one of the most revered Prophets in Islam and is known for his unwavering faith and devotion to Allah. The hadith also teaches us to honor and respect all the Prophets of Allah, including Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), as they all represent the best of creation and were chosen by Allah to guide humanity to the right path.
Prophet Ibrahim: The Father of Prophets

Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) is often referred to as the “Father of Prophets” because many prophets, including Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), descended from him. However, the Qur’an also describes him as our father in a spiritual sense.

📖 Surah Al-Hajj 22:78
“It is the religion of your father, Ibrahim. He (Allah) named you Muslims before, and in this (the Qur’an), that the Messenger may be a witness over you, and you may be witnesses over mankind.”

This verse shows that Ibrahim (AS) is not only the biological ancestor of many prophets but also a father to all believers in terms of faith. He laid the foundation of monotheism and submission to Allah, which is the essence of Islam.

Father in Two Aspects:

  1. Father of Prophets – Many prophets, including Ishaq (Isaac), Yaqub (Jacob), Musa (Moses), Isa (Jesus), and Muhammad (peace be upon them all), came from his lineage.
  2. Father of Believers – Since Islam follows the same monotheistic faith that Ibrahim (AS) established, all Muslims are spiritually connected to him as their “father in faith.”
