Dates as the Ideal Pre-Fasting Meal

📖Sunan Abī Dāwūd 2345
Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, The most excellent pre-fasting meal of the believer is dates.

This hadith highlights the wisdom of the Prophet ï·º in recommending dates as the optimal pre-fasting (suhoor) food. Dates are highly nutritious, easy to digest, and provide sustained energy – making them ideal to eat before starting a fast. And He it is who sends down water from the sky; from it We produce vegetation of all kinds. From it We produce green crops, from which We bring out clusters of grain, and from the date-palm and its spathes come forth clusters of dates, a provision for you and your livestock.
