đSahih Muslim 2767
Abu Burda reported Allah’s Messenger ï·ș as saying: “There would come people amongst the Muslims on the Day of Resurrection with sins as heavy as a mountain, and Allah would forgive them, and He would place in their stead the Jews and the Christians.” Abu Raub said (about the narrator): I do not know who is in doubt.
Abu Burda said: I narrated it to ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz, and he asked: Was it your father who narrated this from Allahâs Messenger ï·ș? I said: Yes.
This hadith is often misused by pagan Christians, who falsely claim that Muslims will be saved only because Jews and Christians are punished. Thatâs a clear misunderstanding, The hadith simply says: some Muslims will come on the Day of Judgment with massive sins, yet Allah will forgive them, purely out of His mercy, not because He needs to punish anyone else to do so.
Then why are the Jews and Christians placed in their stead?
Because they were the cause of many of those sins.
Many among them mock Islam, insult the Prophet Muhammad ï·ș, and constantly provoke Muslims. As a result, some Muslims, in a moment of anger or emotional reaction, say things like:
đŁïž âYour Jesus was beaten and killed,â
đŁïž âYour Moses killed women and children.â
These are not true in Islam. Muslims believe Isa (Jesus) ï·ș was not crucified, and Musa (Moses) ï·ș was a noble prophet who never committed injustice. But due to constant provocation and mockery, some Muslims lose control and speak wrongly, unintentionally insulting their own prophets. That is indeed a sin, but it was caused by deliberate provocation, not disbelief.
Allah knows the hearts, He forgives the sincere Muslims who sinned under emotional pressure, while holding accountable those who caused that pressure.
But their corruption goes deeper.
Itâs not just mockery. They have filled the world with pornography, indecency, and shamelessness – all of which lead many Muslims, especially youth, into sin and spiritual weakness.
From Hollywood to media, from social platforms to ideologies that promote immodesty, they normalize evil and push it into every household, while claiming itâs âfreedom.â
This fits exactly with the Qurâanic warning:
đQuran 24:19
Indeed, those who like that immorality should spread among the believers will have a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter. And Allah knows, and you do not know.
They are not innocent bystanders. They are active corrupters. They promote evil, then mock Muslims who fall into it. But Allah sees both the victim and the one who caused the fall, This verse also applies to anyone who knowingly promotes immorality, whether they are Muslim or non-Muslim.
The verse in Quran 24:19 says theyâll get a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter, but many ask: “Where is that punishment in this world?” The answer lies in what happens at the time of death, a moment most ignore, but where punishment begins.
- Quran 24:19
Indeed, those who like that immorality should spread among the believers will have a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter. And Allah knows, and you do not know. - Some may ask:
“Where is their punishment in this world? They mock, corrupt, and still live in luxury.”
The answer is simple: punishment in this world doesnât always mean earthquakes and destruction. Sometimes it starts right at death, when the soul is ripped out in humiliation and horror. - Quran 8:50
If only you could see when the angels take the souls of the disbelievers, striking their faces and backs, saying: âTaste the punishment of the blazing Fire.â - This is how the worldly punishment begins, not with a bang, but with a terrifying departure. No peace. No comfort. No honor. And after that, the real punishment begins in the Hereafter.
So yes, they might mock now, laugh now, and spread filth now, But when death comes, the angels donât bring flowers, they bring justice.
So what is the truth?
- Muslims are forgiven by Allahâs mercy, not because others are punished.
Jews and Christians are punished because they provoked, mocked, and spread corruption that led Muslims into sin.
They are not the path to salvation â they are the reason some Muslims slipped.
Allahâs justice is perfect, He knows who sinned sincerely and who caused it maliciously, And He will forgive the believer and punish the corrupter, And Allah is All-Knowing, Most Just, Most Merciful.
Proud of Sin? Then Why Scared of the Fire?
So now you know, if youâre the reason people fall into sin, mocking, provoking, or pushing filth into society, youâre earning double punishment. Thatâs not me saying it, thatâs the Qurâan and Hadith, So donât cry on Judgment Day like âWhy am I being punished for them?â Bro, you sponsored the sin, what did you expect? A reward? And if you still want to spread immorality, mock prophets, and lead people into filth, then why are you even questioning it? Youâre proud of your disbelief, right? Then why so scared of the fire? Go all in if you’re that confident.
