Forgive others misbehavior

📖Sahih al-Bukhari 4644
‘Abdullah bin Az-Zubair said:”Allah ordered His Prophet to forgive the people their misbehavior (towards him).”

Description:

This hadith highlights the remarkable patience and mercy of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Even when people mocked him, rejected his message, or wronged him personally, Allah commanded him to forgive, This was not weakness, it was strength, discipline, and trust in Allah’s justice. The Prophet ﷺ didn’t act on personal anger but followed divine instruction with mercy and wisdom.

How it applies to us today:

When people insult you or Islam, don’t immediately react with anger or revenge.
Forgiveness is not surrender, it’s a higher path that stops cycles of hate.
If the Prophet ï·º, the most beloved to Allah, was told to forgive, then we too must control our anger, avoid revenge, and be patient for the sake of Allah.
However, forgiveness doesn’t mean ignoring justice. If someone commits a crime, then authorities should act, but personal grudges must be let go.

Quranic Context:

📖Quran 7:199
“Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant.”
→ Allah commands believers to take the higher road — correct what’s wrong but without lowering yourself to ignorance.

📖Quran 41:34
“Repel evil with what is better, and your enemy will become like a close friend.”
→ A heart can be won through kindness that anger could never reach.

📖Quran 3:134
“Those who restrain anger and pardon people, and Allah loves the doers of good.”
→ Allah links His love to forgiveness and self-control.

📖Quran 42:40
“The recompense for an evil is an evil like it, but whoever forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is [due] from Allah.”

Forgiving others is not about excusing bad behavior, it’s about purifying your own soul, setting a higher standard, and trusting Allah to judge. The Prophet ï·º forgave when he had full power to take revenge. That’s the real Sunnah, mercy with strength, forgiveness with principle.
