Eternal Bliss in Paradise

📖Sahih Muslim 2836
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ﷺ said, “He who enters Paradise will enjoy such everlasting bliss that he will never become destitute, his clothes will never wear out, nor will his youth decline.”

Explanation:

This hadith beautifully describes the eternal and perfect nature of Paradise (Jannah).

  • In this world, everything is temporary: wealth can vanish, clothes wear out, and youth fades with time.
  • But in Paradise, none of these worldly limitations apply.
  • The blessings are everlasting, perfect, and free from any hardship or decay.
  • The residents of Paradise will have eternal youth, endless provision, and complete satisfaction.

Why Paradise cannot be defined by worldly things:

  • Paradise is beyond human imagination and not comparable to worldly pleasures.
  • Its joys and blessings are spiritual and physical combined, perfected by Allah’s mercy and grace.
  • Trying to describe Paradise by worldly standards falls short because the eternal life there is free from decay, pain, and loss.

Quranic Context:

📖Quran 29:64
“The life of this world is only amusement and diversion. And indeed, the home of the Hereafter is best for those who fear Allah.”

📖Quran 3:185
“Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire].”

📖Quran 35:35
“They will wear green garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink.”

📖Quran 56:25-26
“They will not taste death therein except the first death, and He will protect them from the punishment of Hellfire.”

📖Quran 18:107-108
“Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds — they will have the Gardens of Paradise as a lodging, Wherein they abide eternally.”

📖Quran 76:11-12
“But those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups until, when they reach it while its gates have been opened and its keepers say, ‘Peace be upon you; you have become pure; so enter it to abide eternally,’”

Why does Allah promise us such rewards in Paradise instead of letting us enjoy these blessings fully in this world?”

The answer is:

  • This world is temporary and a test. Allah created it with trials, hardships, aging, and death to see who obeys Him sincerely.
  • Paradise is the eternal home, where Allah has set a perfect system for humans:
    • There is no hate, no harm, and no forbidden (haram) things.
    • All provisions and pleasures are purely halal and wholesome.
    • Everyone will live in complete happiness, peace, and justice.
  • Such a perfect system cannot exist in this world because of human limitations, evil, and trials.
  • If this world were perfect and free from suffering, there would be no real test or purpose for human life.
  • Allah’s wisdom is beyond our full understanding, but He has set the ultimate reward in Paradise, where believers will enjoy eternal blessings without any harm or loss.
  • If someone tries to enjoy this life by disobeying Allah, they can do so and enjoy temporarily, but this falls into the same category as breaking laws or harming others. They might feel free for a while, but worldly laws and justice will eventually catch and punish them. Real, lasting happiness cannot come from injustice or disobedience.

Summary:

Allah created this life as a test with its trials and limitations. Paradise is the eternal reward designed by Allah’s perfect wisdom, free from all suffering, pain, and decay, where believers will enjoy everlasting bliss beyond anything possible in this world.
