The Virtue of Good Character

Sunan Abi Dawud 4798
Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu’minin: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: By his good character a believer will attain the degree of one who prays during the night and fasts during the day.

• This hadith emphasizes the significance of the character of a Muslim, which includes being honest, respectful, generous, forgiving, and kind towards others. By exhibiting these qualities, a believer can attain the reward of acts of worship such as prayer and fasting. In Islam, having good character is considered an integral part of a Muslim’s faith and a key component of Islamic teachings. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is known for his excellent character and is considered the best example for Muslims to follow in this regard.
